Woman chess grandmaster Atousa Pourkashiyan started chess when she was 9 years old. After practicing for only 3 months, she won her first tournament.
Following this success, her parents hired a coach so that she could train in a more professional manner. Throughout her chess career she worked with a lot of international chess coaches from different countries.
In 2008 she started to teach chess while continuing to play professionally; she has worked for different chess clubs and various after school programs since then.
In 2013 she got her master’s degree in Sport Management and Sport Science.
In 2019 she decided to open her own chess academy in Los angeles.
She strongly believes that if you want to improve in chess as a fun activity or professional chess player, you need to have the right type of academic chess training. Not only will this help save energy but also save time, as you can learn much more with the right coaching.
This is why she has gathered class A coaches and International Master to teach in her academy. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, we can help you to get to the next level and enjoy playing this royal game.
